This will come off as very comical so please share some laughs at my expense! But let’s talk about dating. Yup, I am going there lol People meet in all sorts of ways. Out at bars, socials, through friends, or online (Thank you Tinder and Bumble). Although, not all these encounters are good. Some of them are bad from the very beginning and others just don’t work out the way we had imagined. In no particular order, here are a few stories from my personal dating life… enjoy!
- Mr. Uh Oh. There was the guy who asked me if I could read Brail after I told him I was studying to become a sign language interpreter! Yes, You blew it right off the bat. However, you did redeem yourself very nicely, not to worry!
- The Choir Boys. Oh, the endless Tinder messages that started with “Oh Nikki, you’re so fine, You’re so fine, you blow my mind. Hey Nikki!“ Common guys, let us be original.
- Mr. Asshole I will never forget the guy who point-blank stood me up. The humiliation that came along with that was ridiculous. I would like to say that has only happened to me once in my life, but sadly twice. (Again, I can thank Tinder for that)
- Mr. Player. The hockey player from Detroit I saw briefly who sadly moved away. He was younger than me too (oops!)
- Mr. Scarred to Commit. The emotional ping pong of going back and forth between in and out was exhausting. That’s a year of my life I won’t ever get back!
- Mr. Out of this Galaxy. The never-ending dinner date with the guy who talked Star Wars, Star Trek, and Cars for the entirety of the date. (Help me!)
- Mr.Liar, Well I guess we had different definitions of what “I’m single” meant. Enough said. no details needed.
- Mr. Maybe. The cutie I asked for coffee, who politely said no (Secretly hoping that might still happen lol)
- Mr. Douchebag. Any guy who has ever slid into my social media with “pics?” (You know who you are) No boys. Goodbye!
- Mr. Nice Guy. The guy I felt I didn’t deserve. This one is a mess up on my part, but I learned from you and we are still good friends.
The point in sharing all this is that I am still trying. I’m still putting myself out there and being open to finding love again. The dating world is a scary place. You just have to own your mistakes and experiences along the way. As far as my Mr. right, well, we are still looking for him. Wish me luck!
I have so many other stories like this and some that are worse than this! Do you?! Feel free to share some of your dating nightmares with me! either through my contact page or leave a comment.
